Welcome to Agave Garden Design

At Agave Garden Design we believe that the harmony between people, plants and the planet is the secret to creating a beautiful, sustainable garden.
Gardens should be a place to relax, to reflect and to be inspired. They should also be spaces that nurture wildlife, and that have a positive impact on the wider environment. These are the gardens that Agave brings to life.

What does Agave [a-gar-vee] mean?

Agave is a genus of succulent plants that originate from the Americas. They are symbolic of new horticultural opportunities for our changing climate. As the summer months grow longer and warmer, it is vital to consider sustainable solutions for our gardens, including drought-tolerant planting schemes. Agaves also have a geometrical structure that makes them an excellent choice in planting design.

Meet Our Team

Henry Scott
Head Gardener & Designer
Henry has been passionate about plants from a young age, ever since his first day working at his dad's nursery and garden centre as a boy.
He went on to study horticulture and achieved RHS qualifications from the Royal Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh.
Henry has significant experience working in the horticultural services industry, where he had the opportunity to grow under the tutelage of multi award-winning garden designers Neil Sutcliffe and Toby Pritchard.
Before setting up Agave Garden Design in 2025, he was the Lead Gardener at Goldney House in Clifton, Bristol. When he's not gardening, Henry enjoys reading, hiking and cold water swimming.

Lorna Hatch
Gardener & Designer
Lorna has a PhD in Public Health and has a deep understanding of just how beneficial gardens, green spaces and the wilderness are for ones wellbeing.
She is a true lover of nature and is at her happiest in the forest, surrounded by trees. While this has imbued her with a naturalistic style to her planting design, she also loves to experiment with more unusual species to give a scheme that extra wow-factor.
As well as training in horticulture, Lorna is training as a flower grower and arranger. "A flower arrangement is planting design in microcosm. The same principles of texture, colour and layering apply. Flowers bring me so much joy and it's a privilege to be able to share that feeling with others."
